A Warner Robins woman died Sunday night in East Dublin after a man stabbed her and left her in a house, officials said.

East Dublin police and Laurens County sheriff’s deputies found Ericia Avyana Smith, 22, dead just after 9 a.m. Monday at a house on Soperton Avenue in East Dublin and called the GBI to investigate, according to a release from the GBI.

The GBI arrested Tahvien Dewberry, 26, of East Dublin and charged him with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a knife during the commission of a crime after allegedly connecting him to Smith’s death.

It was unclear in the statement whether Smith knew Dewberry or how investigators connected Dewberry to the death. The investigation was still underway and further information was not available.

The GBI asked that anyone that has information regarding the investigation please contact the GBI Eastman office at 478-374-6988.
