Police charged a Macon man with murder Wednesday after connecting him to a shooting in Lizella that left a young woman dead in 2022, officials said.

Shondricos Demetrick Ingram Jr., 25, was already in jail when Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators connected him to the shooting death of Mariah Loren Stanfield, 24, last summer, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.

Ingram already faced charges of aggravated assault and kidnapping, the statement said. He has been convicted of aggravated assault and drug possession as recently as 2016, court records show. Deputies held Ingram without bond for the murder charge.

Stanfield died the morning of July 15 when deputies found her on the 9200 block of Knoxville Road in southwest Bibb County with multiple gunshot wounds at about 6:39 a.m., according to Telegraph archives. She died at the scene, according to Bibb coroners.

It was unclear what connected Ingram to Stanfield’s death, and no further details were available from the sheriff’s office Wednesday.

The Telegraph will update this story if more details become available.
