Boy, 16, shot in back at west Macon apartment complex dies at hospital, Bibb coroner says
A 16-year-old boy was shot and killed Wednesday night at an apartment complex in west Macon.
The victim, Nathaniel Alexander Elder, suffered a gunshot wound to the back shortly after 9 p.m., officials said.
Circumstances of the shooting, which happened at Green Meadows Townhouses on Log Cabin Drive about a mile northeast of Mercer University Drive, were not immediately known.
Bibb County sheriff’s officials said in a statement that deputies answering a call about “a person shot” arrived to find Elder mortally wounded.
His death was the county’s 69th homicide of 2022.
