Four shot, two fatally, in gunfire at north Macon apartments, Bibb County coroner says

A teenage boy and a young woman were shot and killed Tuesday evening at a north Macon apartment complex, officials said.

Two other people, both teenagers, were wounded in the 7:10 p.m. gunfire and were being treated at a downtown hospital.

Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones said the violent episode happened at at 624 Forest Hill Road in the Waverly Pointe complex, just north of Wimbish Road and Piedmont Macon North hospital.

What prompted the shootings was not immediately known, and it was unclear whether sheriff’s investigators knew of any suspects.

The victims who were slain were a 17-year-old boy and a 26-year-old woman, who the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office later identified as Jayden Ellington and Roctavia Edwards.

The other victims were 17 and 18 and both were male, the coroner said.
