Burglars break into Macon video game store Retro Raven, steal PS4s, Nintendo Switches
Retro Raven, a video game store in Macon, was closed Friday after two thieves smashed their way into the store and made off with several thousands of dollars worth of video game consoles.
Store manager David DeRuvo told the Telegraph two young men broke into Retro Raven (3100 Vineville Ave.) using a large rock around 4:15 a.m. Friday morning, then used the same rock to smash display cases. They stole a variety of PlayStation 4 consoles and hand-held Nintendo Switches, including special Death Stranding and Destiny PlayStation 4 editions, a regular PS4 slim and a red Mario edition Nintendo Switch.
DeRuvo said the store is asking for folks to keep an eye out at flea markets and online resale sites like Facebook Marketplace for the stolen merchandise. The store is offering a $500 reward for information that leads to the capture or arrest of the burglars.
DeRuvo said they hoped to reopen Saturday, but will have to play that by ear, and they should return to normal hours by Monday. In the meantime, gamers can visit retroravengames.com to purchase from the store’s entire inventory and support the local business.
Retro Raven is running a sale in May: buy one, get one free for games $15 and under.
