Houston County pedestrian killed by hit-and-run driver on Watson Boulevard late Sunday

A 53-year-old Centerville man was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver while crossing Watson Boulevard near its intersection with Houston Road on Sunday night, Warner Robins police said.

The victim, Clinton Taylor, was thought to have been walking north across Watson Boulevard outside of a crosswalk when he was struck, city police said in a statement. Taylor later died at a nearby hospital.

“(Taylor) made it across most of the roadway and was at the edge of the outside westbound lane, near the fog line, when he was struck by an unknown vehicle traveling westbound,” the statement said.

The automobile’s driver did not stop to help.

Police were said to be examining footage from security cameras along the well-traveled thoroughfare to help them see what kind of vehicle may have been involved.
