Armed bandits shoot Macon Waffle House employee during early morning robbery

A 20-year-old man was shot at Macon Waffle House when two men came and demanded money.

Yo-El Gray, an employee at the Waffle House on Arkwright Road, was shot just before 1:30 a.m. on Friday morning in Macon.

Two men entered through the back door of the restaurant wearing masks and armed with handguns. The pair fired shots as they entered the restaurant, one striking Gray in the stomach.

One of the men fired a shot at a female employee and demanded money from the register. The two fled out the back door with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Gray was transported to a local hospital. He is listed in stable condition. No one else was injured in the armed robbery.

The Bibb County’s Sheriff’s Office is investigating the robbery and shooting. Anyone with information about the incident or the suspect is asked to contact the Sheriff’s office at 478-751-7500, or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
