63-year-old Macon man hit by car and killed on Gray Highway, officials say

A 63-year-old man was struck by a car and killed on Friday night on Gray Highway in Macon, authorities said.

Broderick Jerome Linder was struck while attempting to cross Gray Highway near Sanford Drive, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said.

A 22-year-old woman in a Chevy Equinox was traveling south on Gray Highway when she struck Linder, authorities said. The incident occurred shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Friday, police said. The driver’s name was not released. No one else was injured.

Linder was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, officials said.

The incident remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office.
