A former Northside High School assistant principal was arrested late last week on charges of child molestation.

Joshua Lee Mason, 40, of Warner Robins, was charged with child molestation and aggravated child molestation and turned himself in to the Houston County Sheriff’s Office Friday. He’s currently being held in the Houston County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing in superior court.

HCSO Captain Randall Banks said the investigation began after the sheriff’s office received a report through the Georgia Division of Family & Children Services. He added the report was not connected to Mason’s work at Northside.

The Houston County School District noted that Mason resigned Nov. 4 and directed questions related to his arrest to HCSO.
