Woman shot dead in struggle for gun with men she was robbing, Warner Robins cops say

A young woman from Warner Robins was shot to death in a struggle over a gun she was using to try to rob a pair of “male companions” in an automobile early Sunday, police said.

The shooting happened at about 12:30 a.m. on Fred Drive, a dead-end lane which parallels South Davis Drive near Russell Parkway on the city’s south side.

In statements on social media, Police Chief John Wagner said the woman who was killed, 21-year-old Kyndal Reynolds, and her alleged accomplice, Tywana A. Cody, 42, “met two men earlier in the night.”

“Later, while all together in a vehicle, (Reynolds) attempted to rob the male companions,” the chief noted. “One of the males attempted to disarm (Reynolds). During the struggle she was shot with her own weapon.”

The names of the men involved were not included in the statements, but they were at the shooting scene when police officers arrived, as were Cody and the men, the chief said.

Reynolds was later pronounced dead at a city hospital.

Cody was jailed on charges that include felony murder, party to the crime of aggravated assault and attempted armed robbery.

Wagner said Cody was “working in concert with” Reynolds to rob the men.
