Woman shot, killed during alleged break-in at Macon home, Bibb sheriff’s office says

A 53-year-old woman was pronounced dead Sunday night after a fatal shooting in Macon.

April Lynn Boyd was shot around 10:19 p.m. when she allegedly attempted to break into 77-year-old Howard Walker’s home on the 2300 block of East Pine Hill Drive, according to a release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Walker reportedly heard someone attempting to break into his home through a boarded window, so Walker grabbed a handgun and fired a shot towards the window, according to the release.

A bullet hit Boyd just outside of the window and killed her.
