3-year-old in critical condition after being hit by vehicle in Macon driveway

A 3-year-old boy is in critical condition at a local hospital after being hit by a vehicle in the driveway of a Macon home, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

A family member pulled into a driveway on Bennell Avenue just before 3:30 p.m. Saturday, got out of the vehicle to drop off food and left it running, the sheriff’s office said.

A 15-year-old boy got into the vehicle and started to back out of the driveway, hitting the 3-year-old boy. The 3-year-old was transported by ambulance to a local hospital and is in critical condition.

This incident is under investigation. Anyone with information in reference to this accident is urged to contact traffic investigators at 478-751-7500.
