Macon man arrested for Krystal parking lot shooting after chase ends in Kroger
Police arrested a 28-year-old man in connection with a July 14 shooting at a Krystal restaurant on Riverside Drive.
Trevon Lamar Davis led Bibb County Sheriff’s deputies and U.S. Marshals on a short chase after fleeing from his apartment and running into the local Kroger, according to a release.
The shooting at the Krystal occurred just before 9:30 p.m. when Davis’ estranged wife entered a friend’s car to get a ride home. Davis approached the vehicle and began shooting, police say.
The woman was shot multiple times in the upper body. Earlier this month, she was listed in stable condition at a local hospital. The driver was not injured in the incident. Davis reportedly fled the scene before deputies arrived.
Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies, along with U.S. Marshals from the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, made the arrest Thursday after getting a tip that Davis had returned to his Macon apartment.
Davis was found in the stock room of the Baconsfield Kroger on North Avenue. After a brief struggle, he was apprehended. Davis was charged with two counts of aggravated assault. He also had warrants for theft by receiving and cruelty to children in an unrelated case.
Anyone with information about this case is urged to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500 or the Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
