‘It happened so fast.’ New details released in Milledgeville murder-suicide

A woman who called 911 to report she was being harassed by her boyfriend was fatally wounded before he turned the gun on himself at a Milledgeville home Wednesday, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation says.

Tameka Justice, 33, and, Randall Wilson, 31, died at the Medical Center of Baldwin County, Navicent Health, where they were taken after the 11:36 a.m. incident at 310 West Mitchell St., according to a GBI news release.

A Milledgeville police officer pulling up to the house in response to the 911 call saw Wilson and Justice in the yard of her home, said Josh Ayer, assistant special agent in charge of the GBI’s Milledgeville office.

Wilson shot Justice multiple times and then shot himself once in the head, Ayer said.

“It all happened so fast .. He (the officer) never had time to take any proactive action other than life saving efforts,” Ayer said.

The officer and other arriving Milledgeville police officers rendered aid until emergency medical personnel arrived, Ayer said.

Justice and Wilson were pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital, Ayer said.

Some eye witnesses were out on the street when the incident unfolded and what they reported was consistent with what police officers witnessed, Ayer said.

The GBI was asked to investigate by Milledgeville police.

Anyone with information related to the murder-suicide is urged to contact the GBI Milledgeville office at 478-445-4173.
