3 suspects arrested in connection to homicide at Perry motel. 1 is still on the run, police say

Three suspects connected to a homicide at the Great Inn motel in Perry on July 2 have been arrested on charges of felony murder and one is still on the run.

Samuel Clayton Miller, 22, and Tycovian Kemon Whitlow, 22, were arrested without incident in Calhoun County, Alabama, on July 5 by Perry Police Department detectives and Calhoun County deputies, according to a PPD news release.

Tara Mechelle Redding, 25, turned herself in at the Perry Police Department Monday and was booked into the Houston County Jail.

On July 2, D’undrea Jolly, 20, was fatally shot in a motel room and was pronounced dead on the scene at 1006 St. Patricks Drive.

The PPD Criminal Investigation Division launched an investigation during which the team learned that four people appeared to be in the room when Jolly was shot, according to the release.

The investigation led the detectives to Alabama and Indiana. Miller, of Anniston, Alabama, and Whitlow, of Alexandria, Alabama, are being held in Calhoun County Jail awaiting extradition to Georgia. Detectives also recovered one of the vehicles involved in the crime in Calhoun County.

PPD detectives then traveled to Clarksville, Indiana, in pursuit of the remaining two suspects and recovered the second vehicle involved in the homicide, according to the release.

Redding, of Reynolds, Georgia, turned herself in after returning from Indiana, but PPD detectives are still searching for a fourth suspect in Indiana, Quintavious Deon Dobbins, 23, of Anniston, Alabama.

The FBI, Indiana State Police and Clarksville Police Department are assisting the PPD locate the suspect, according to the release.

Anyone with information about the Dobbins suspect’s whereabouts are encouraged to contact the Perry Police Department or local Indiana authorities.
