Commercial gambling sting nets a dozen arrests in Bibb

A dozen people have been arrested in a gambling sting in Bibb County.

Sheriff’s deputies also seized an undisclosed amount of cash, cellphones, poker chips and a poker table in Thursday’s sweep at the Tax Bar tax service at 6440 Houston Road, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

All of those arrested were charged with commercial gambling, and some face additional charges related to drugs or weapons possession, or from outstanding warrants.

People arrested include:

Billy Meyaski Poole, 49, of Macon, charged with commercial gambling and tampering with evidence. Poole allegedly flushed powder cocaine down a toilet, the release said.

Hector Riley, 38, of Perry, charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, commercial gambling and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Riley allegedly had powder cocaine and crack cocaine inside his vehicle parked outside, the release said. He also allegedly had a semi-automatic handgun on him while gambling illegally.

Julius Adams, 30, of Macon, charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and commercial gambling. Adams allegedly had a semi-automatic handgun on him while gambling illegally, according to the release.

Jason Campbell 32, of Bonaire, charged with possession of marijuana less than an ounce and commercial gambling.

Jamel Smith, 39, of Macon, charged commercial gambling and with theft by deception and theft by receiving based on outstanding warrants.

Latricia Hunter, 39, of Macon, charged with commercial gambling and probation violation.

Others arrested on commercial gambling charges include Kenneth Jackson, 30, of Byron; Sammie Cosby III, 29, of Warner Robins; Michael Smart, 36, of Bonaire; and Anthony Little, 53, Ardontae Taylor, 30, and Dominique Morris, 40, all of Macon.

The raid was conducted by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigation Unit with the help of the Bibb County Swat Team and Sheriff Response Team.
