Here’s a photo of suspect who slugged Krispy Kreme clerk in robbery, Bibb deputies say

A man who leaped the counter of an east Macon Krispy Kreme doughnut shop Monday morning punched a clerk and took off with cash, Bibb County sheriff’s deputies said.

The man, said to be wearing dark clothing, went into the shop at 519 North Ave., a block north of Interstate 16 and the Ocmulgee River, about 7:30 a.m.

According to a sheriff’s statement, “the suspect jumped the counter and struck the 31-year-old clerk multiple times, with his fist, before taking an undisclosed amount of money. He fled the store and got into a black SUV.”

The clerk was taken to a Macon hospital for treatment. The sheriff’s office released a photo of the suspect Tuesday.

An investigation is ongoing.
