Macon man arrested after CVS, Dollar General robberies over the weekend, cops say

The strange case of a pair of Saturday-night armed robberies in which the suspect made little or no effort to conceal his identity ended hours later with the arrest of a suspect.

The first holdup was reported shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday after a gunman in a teal fleece jacket and dark pants strode into the CVS at the intersection of Pio Nono and Montpelier avenues in Macon, cops said.

The bandit took off with an undisclosed amount of cash, Bibb County sheriff’s officials said in a statement.

About three hours later, just past 9 p.m., a man who investigators say was the culprit in the CVS holdup walked into a Dollar General less than 3 miles away and allegedly robbed it.

About midnight, 24-year-old Danny Galvez, of 168 Forest Ave., was arrested at his house and charged with both robberies.

He was being held at the county jail without bond Monday. Sheriff’s investigators did not release details about what led them to Galvez.
