Police looking for suspect in armed robbery at North Macon Zaxby’s. Here’s more.

A popular fast-food restaurant in north Macon was robbed Saturday night.

A masked suspect with a handgun approached an employee of Zaxby’s at 1680 Bass Road around 10 p.m. Saturday when the employee was taking out the trash, according to a news release.

The suspect, last seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans, led the employee through the rear door of the restaurant and demanded money from the manager inside the restaurant’s office

After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect ran back through the rear door in an unknown direction.

No one was injured during the incident, according to the release.
