Florida man fleeing Monroe County deputies on stolen motorcycle hits patrol car, sheriff says
A Florida man wanted for an armed carjacking was arrested Friday after he fled on a stolen motorcycle from Monroe County sheriff’s deputies down Interstate 75, authorities said.
At 11:15 a.m. Friday, deputies attempted to stop a motorcycle for excessive speeding southbound on I-75 near exit 185.
Deputies boxed in the vehicle near mile marker 177, and the motorcycle hit the back of a patrol car, according to a Monroe County Sheriff’s Office news release.
The driver, Krystofer Michael Hochlinkski of Jacksonville, Florida, fled on foot but was quickly captured by deputies, the release said.
Deputies say they seized 294 grams of methamphetamine and a weapon from Hochlinkski, who was charged with trafficking meth and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is wanted on the carjacking charge in Florida.
The motorcycle he driving was the same motorcycle taken at gunpoint, said Anna Lewis, public information coordinator for the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Hochlinkski was also charged with fleeing, bringing stolen property inside state lines, driving with a suspended license, reckless driving and several other traffic offenses.
He was also charged with littering.
