Police searching for two suspects after armed robbery at Macon post office

Two masked males robbed a U.S. Postal Service office at gunpoint in Macon on Friday afternoon.

One of the suspects brandished a handgun while demanding money from a clerk at the post office 1:15 p.m. at 1040 Pio Nono Ave., according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release.

The suspects fled on foot behind the post office toward Patterson Street after they got an undisclosed amount of cash, the release said.

Witnesses then saw them get into a red Honda with a “drive-out” tag, according to the release.

The suspects were last seen wearing dark colored, hooded sweatshirts with bandanna’s covering their faces, the release said.

No one was hurt in the armed robbery, the release said.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500, or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
