Armed robberies reported at two Macon motels

Bibb County sheriff’s deputies are looking for gunmen responsible for two armed robberies at Macon motels overnight.

At about 10 p.m. Monday, a man with a gun demanded money from the clerk at the Value Place Inn at 4959 Harrison Road, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

The gunman, who was described as a black male with dreads, wearing a black jacket and dark clothing, took the cash and ran from the motel.

At about 12:45 a.m. Tuesday, sheriff’s deputies were called to the Rodeway Inn at 4952 Romeiser Drive where a gunman robbed two women in one of the rooms.

No description was immediately available in that case.

It is not yet known whether the same person committed both crimes that happened less than a mile away off Eisenhower Parkway in west Macon.
