2 women wounded in gunfire and a man cut on Macon’s Houston Avenue

Late morning violence off of Houston Avenue sent three people to the hospital Tuesday.

Just after 11 a.m., Bibb County sheriff’s deputies were called to Bowden Homes at 2301 Houston Ave.

A fight broke out between several people near Building 13, according to a Bibb County sheriff’s news release.

Witnesses reported hearing three to four gunshots.

Tatayana Khadijha McIntyre, 23, was shot in the right thigh, and Jurrecia Laquinta Howe, 21, showed up at Medical Center, Navicent Health, with a gunshot wound to the left arm.

McIntyre, who was loaded onto the stretcher off Giles Street Lane, was conscious and moaning as she was taken to the ambulance.

Just a few moments later, sheriff’s deputies and Navicent Health emergency personnel abruptly left Bowden Homes with sirens blaring after a man was reported cut during a fight less than two miles away at KZ Green Apartments, formerly Colonial Terrace, at 3775 Houston Ave.

Ronald Jason Scott, 52, got into a fight with Tony Lamar Ross, 58, according to a Bibb County sheriff’s news release.

Ross pulled a knife and cut Scott on the face and neck, close to a main artery, the release stated.

Scott was loaded into another ambulance and taken to Medical Center, Navicent Health, where he was in stable condition Tuesday afternoon, Bibb County sheriff’s public affairs Sgt. Clay Williams said.

Ross was arrested and booked into the jail on charges of criminal attempt to commit murder and terroristic threats.

The two incidents are not related except for proximity along Houston Avenue, deputies said.

Anyone with information about these incidents is urged to call an investigator at 478-751-7500, or phone anonymous tips to Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 877-68-CRIME.
