Student arrested and charged with having a gun on high school campus

A Northside High School student is accused of bringing a gun to school in Warner Robins.

Ahmien Beasley, 17, was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon, underage possession of a pistol and carrying a weapon in a school safety zone, according to a news release from the Warner Robins Police Department.

Officers were tipped off before noon Tuesday that the teen had a gun in his backpack. Beasley was taken out of class, and officers found an unloaded pistol and several bullets in their search, the release stated.

Seven months ago, Middle Georgia students marched in Atlanta against school gun violence with others from across the state.
