A Macon man was shot in the face early Wednesday while walking near a downtown hospital.

Just after 3 a.m., Raeshon Rawmain Waters, 19, was walking with friends near the Medical Center, Navicent Health, on Pine Street near Spring Street when shots were fired from a car, according to a release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.

Waters, Rashard Taylor, 19, and Tavarse Baldwin, 17, told deputies that a dark-colored, four-door car pulled up and someone started shooting at the teens.

Waters was the only one hurt before the vehicle drove off.

His friends helped him to the emergency room at Navicent Health, where he was in stable condition.

Sheriff's deputies are interviewing witnesses, and anyone with information is asked to call for an investigator at 478-751-7500 or phone anonymous tips to Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 877-68-CRIME.
