Second man charged in east Macon Halloween homicide makes first appearance
A second man charged with murder in the Oct. 31 slaying of Jackie Dewayne Rouse appeared in Bibb County Magistrate Court on Monday.
Trayvion Lamonte Burney was arrested Saturday at an east Macon house located less than two miles from the Dennis Street house where 38-year-old Rouse was gunned down at a party that night. Rouses' cousin, 31-year-old Quincy Bernard Emory, also was shot but survived.
In court Monday, 23-year-old Burney requested a commitment hearing, where investigators will explain why they arrested him.
Burney's arrest came one a day after Bibb County sheriff's investigators served arrest warrants to 25-year-old Anterrio Tremaine Stinson, who already was in jail and charged with murder in the Nov. 17 killing of Jonathan Risby.
Sheriff's Lt. Randy Gonzalez said the two killings don't appear to be related.
Rouse's killing was the first of three that occurred in Bibb County on Oct. 31.
Anyone with information about the killing is urged to call the sheriff's office at 478-751-7500, or call Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
