Man charged with murder in shooting Halloween night in East Macon

A man has been charged with murder and related charges in a Halloween night shooting in East Macon.

Trayvion Lamonte Burney of Macon was also charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and criminal damage to property in the 9 p.m. incident, according to Bibb County sheriff’s Sgt. Clay Williams. Burney was also charged with a probation violation, jail records show.

Jackie Dewayne Rouse, 38, and Quincey Bernard Emory, 31, were at a party at 1013 Dennis St. when a fight broke out and both were shot, according to a Bibb County sheriff’s news release.

Emory, wounded in the left arm, ran to a nearby residence where he was taken to the Medical Center, Navicent Health. Rouse was pronounced dead on scene by medical personal.

Burney was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Southeastern Regional Fugitive Task Force and Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at his home at about 4 p.m. Saturday.
