He allegedly came to steal but targeted victim shot him dead, police say
Cordele police have identified the killer of a 33-year-old man, but say the shooter is actually a victim.
In the hours since 33-year-old Ahmad Ali Rahman was found dead just before 12:30 a.m. Thursday, investigators have learned he was the suspected perpetrator of an attempted robbery, according to a police news release.
Rahman allegedly was trying to rob Kentrial Antonio Killens, 29, at Suwanee Apartments at 101 S. Seventh St. when the two exchanged gunfire.
Killens suffered non-lethal wounds and was treated at a local hospital.
Rahman was pronounced dead at the scene by the Crisp County coroner.
The GBI is assisting in the ongoing investigation.
