Inmate escapes as painting job at judge's office gives him a brush with freedom
A manhunt is underway in and around Coffee County after an inmate walked away from a painting job at the courthouse Friday morning.
Donald Dewayne Davis was asked to paint a visiting judge's office so some might say his escape was a stroke of genius.
Davis had been in custody since July when he was booked on multiple drug charges and a probation violation.
The 50-year-old white man is about 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs about 200 pounds and is bald.
Davis was last seen wearing light brown pants and shirt.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to call 912-384-7675 or 911.
