Missing man walked away from assisted living facility, Crawford County sheriff says

The Crawford County sheriff’s office is asking for the public’s help with finding an adult who reportedly has not been seen since he walked away early Monday morning from an assisted living facility.

Another resident at Tall Pines Assisted Living reported seeing Emanuel Smith walk away from the Whitaker Road facility 1 a.m. Monday, according to a Tuesday night news release from the sheriff’s office.

The 55-year-old was reported missing to the sheriff’s office about seven hours later.

Smith is described as a black male about 5 feet 5 inches tall and 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark colored hoodie, a dark colored skull cap and dark colored pants. He walks with a silver cane, the news release said.

On Tuesday, sheriff’s deputies and firefighters searched the area with help from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and a Georgia State Patrol helicopter. Smith remained missing late Tuesday.

Anyone with any information about Smith’s whereabouts is urged to call the sheriff’s office at 478-836-3116, or call Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68-CRIME.
