Gunman sought after shots fired on Cordele police officer
Cordele police are searching for a gunman who opened fire on an officer early Monday.
WALB-TV is reporting the shooting happened at about 4 a.m. Monday in a traffic stop near Seventh Street.
The officer was not hit but several shots were fired.
The gunman ran away and police set up a perimeter in hopes of catching the shooter.
