Museum of Aviation raffle will send someone home in a new car or $30,000 richer
Hosts of the Museum of Aviation’s 31st annual Auction and Raffle and Taste of Local Cuisine on July 23 are looking to draw in guests with big prizes.
The top prize for the raffle will be a new car or $30,000, and there will be other cash prizes for second and third place. A pre-raffle will be held for a $300 gift card.
Admission for up to two guests is $100 and includes a live auction, some local cuisine and a round of drinks.
“This is the social event of the year,” said Tyler Bryant, public relations and marketing director at the Museum. “We are inviting folks to come out and eat, drink and bid with us.”
The restaurants will be local favorites. A diverse menu will include everything from Genghis Grill to Uncle Maddio’s pizza.
“We have all kinds of local restaurants coming, and you get to sample these all throughout the night,” Bryant said. “It’s not just the American flair; you have the international flair.”
The event will open at 6 p.m. at the Century of Flight hangar. A silent auction is set to start at 6:30. The silent auction will allow people to bid on items throughout the night and is separate from the live auction that begins at 8 p.m. for the larger items.
People who participate in the live auction will have the chance to bid on items like a trip to Disney World, a catered dinner for 50 and a trip to Aruba, Bryant said.
Proceeds from the event will go toward museum operations, which include educational programs for students.
“We are educating children all year long” Bryant said. “So when you come to our auction, your money will go straight back to our operations. It will go straight back to those education programs.”
