Warner Robins is rich in live theater
Not many communities offer live drama, comedy and musical productions showcasing diverse local talent of all ages. It is a notable accomplishment to present five main shows during each season, and that’s exactly what Warner Robins Little Theatre has been doing for decades. The playhouse, players and crew (set decorators, costume dressers, etc.) have maintained this kind of presence in the community for the past 54 years, while also providing theater workshops and short-run special events. The current 2015-2016 season has showcased theater classics “Blithe Spirit” by Noel Coward, the dramatic comedy “Crimes of the Heart,” “The Lion in Winter,” the hilarious comedy “The Hallelujah Girls” and the most recent show, “On Golden Pond.” Over the years, Warner Robins Little Theatre has honed the skills of many well-known and highly regarded local actors, including Lee and Bill Kingery, Bob Householder, Fred Hardin, Ruth and Ken Logan, Bill and Ruth Mayberry, Richard Hamilton and Cheryl Taylor, who lists off-Broadway experience in her resume.
Auditions for the summer production of “Nunsense” are 7:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at in the playhouse, 502 Pleasant Hill Road. The play was written by Dan Goggin and will be directed by Bill Felton. The cast requirements are for five women.
Warner Robins Little Theater is conveniently located and accessible from Watson Boulevard or Russell Parkway with ample free parking for its patrons. General admission is $16, or at a reduced price of $14 for active military members with ID, students with ID and seniors age 60 and older. During the run of the shows, there is a one night show special offering the opportunity to buy one ticket and get the second ticket at half the price. Reservations are always highly recommended but not mandatory to enjoy live theater with experienced actors and directors performing quality material.
