BUZZELL: Exhibit brings together artists, wine
Local artists need to note on their calendars that April 1 is the deadline for entries to participate in the annual "99 Bottles of Art on the Wall" exhibit. The theme of the art show this year is "Of the Earth" -- meaning that food, farms, animals, landscapes and still-life would be good subjects to depict. The idea of the show is that artists create original 5 inch by 7 inch "labels" to be displayed with or on a wine bottle from a local winery. This show has been a huge success over the past couple of years, providing a great opportunity to add unique artwork to a collection.
Artists participating are asked to donate their original fine art labels to Land to Hand Inc., which is the organizer of the weekly International City Community Farmers' Market on Watson Boulevard at the corner of Maple Street each Thursday from noon to dusk. All entries will be on exhibit and for sale at The Painted Door Art Gallery in Warner Robins, with proceeds supporting local food programs in Houston County. The show will open to the public 6-8 p.m. April 15 at 1752 Watson Boulevard in Warner Robins.
Entry forms to exhibit are available by calling Jodi Daley at 478-328-9143 or 478-225-7626, or by mailing a request to Land to Hand Inc., c/o Jodi Daley, 2415 Elko Road, Elko, GA 31025. Blank canvas paper can be picked up at The Painted Door. For more information about the work of Land to Hand Inc., visit their website at www.landtohand.org.
