February offers wine and cheese tasting, theater and other cultural events

The ladies of All Saints Episcopal Church in Warner Robins are famous for their sumptuous food spreads, holiday casseroles and gentile hospitality. At 7 p.m. Feb. 12 , they will mark their 38th annual Wine and Cheese Event, offering wine tastings and a wide variety of cheeses and breads.

Highlighting the evening will be a silent auction offering tables full of eclectic treasures on which to bid, plus a raffle and door prizes. Tickets are $25 each, and no tickets will be sold at the door. People must be at least 21 to attend. The Museum of Aviation will come alive during Night at the Museum on Feb. 6 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., offering an evening of living history events and interactive STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) activities. Tickets are $8 per person with proceeds enhancing the educational programs at the Museum of Aviation, which is located on Ga. 247 at Russell Parkway in Warner Robins. During the second, third and fourth weekends in February, the Museum of Aviation will also host a Mystery Dinner Theater: "Murder at the Juice Joint." Evening and matinee performances are listed at their website, www.museumofaviation.org. The performance includes dinner, a show and a contest set in the wildly romantic era of the Roaring '20s. The Houston County Public Library System is hosting "Art on the Ceiling" on Feb. 8, 18 and 27.

February events at the Warner Robins Senior Activity Center, 152 Maple St., include a Valentine's Luncheon on Feb. 9. The cost is $3 per person, and reservations can be made by calling 478-293-1066. Game Day will be held across the street at the Wellston Center from 10 a.m. until noon on Feb. 17. The Ladies and Men's Night Out with music and dancing will be held Feb. 19 at the Wellston Center. The Senior Activity Center is a nonprofit organization sponsored by the Warner Robins Recreation Department. All activities and programs are open to the general public for anyone 50 years and older.
