Jan. 16 marks the 19th year the Museum of Aviation will host its Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K Run/Walk through Robins Air Force Base. Co-sponsored by the Museum and the Robins Pacers Running/Walking Club, the race is part of the 2016 Run & See Georgia Grand Prix Series and is a USA Track & Field certified Boston Marathon qualifier.

What's new is that all participants this year will receive a colorful long-sleeved cotton shirt. Start times at the Museum of Aviation are 8 a.m. for the marathon, 8:15 a.m. for the half marathon, and 8:30 a.m. for the 5K run/walk.

Wyatt's Wish Winter Runderland 5K and Fun Run will be held Saturday, Jan. 30, on the Central Georgia Technical College campus in Warner Robins. The event is a fundraiser honoring 3-year-old Wyatt of Warner Robins, who has spinal muscular atrophy/Type 1. Funds raised will go directly to supplying necessary respiratory masks for infants with SMA who are not covered by insurance and toward research to develop treatments and a cure for the disease. Start time for the 5K is 8 a.m. with the fun run (one-mile walk/run) starting at 8:15 a.m.

The seventh annual Cantrell Center Run to Lose 5K & Fun Run will be held Feb. 27 in Warner Robins at the Cantrell Center at 405 Osigian Blvd.

Resources include "Ask a Trainer" free training advice from the Cantrell Center experts via phone call or email; daily motivating YouTube videos with training tips; and an official "Couch to 5K" run or walking program.

Chip timers will be used on all race bibs, as this is a certified USA Track & Field Course and Peachtree Road Race qualifier. It's also part of the Run & See Georgia Grand Prix series and the Macon Tracks Race Series.

Proceeds from the Cantrell Center Run to Lose 5K & Fun Run support Special Olympics, Golden Olympics, the Arthritis Foundation, United in Pink, the D'Angelo Foundation, Children's Miracle network, Cherished Children and Covenant Care Services. Start time for the 5K Run is 8:30 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. for the one mile fun run. For information visit www.cantrellcenter.com/5k.
