BUZZELL: A Taste of Southern coming up in Perry
The Perry Chamber of Commerce will again host a Taste of Southern on Dec. 3 at 6:30 p.m. The event will be held in the Miller, Murphy, Howard Building at the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter, 401 Larry Walker Parkway, Perry. Tickets are $30 each or $200 for a table of eight for this annual event presented by Georgia Power, Hamby, Parish Construction Group, Perdue and State Bank. Supporting sponsors are Ace Hardware, Cox, Fox 24 WGXA Television, Cumulus, iHeart Media, Sperion, State Farm, The Houston Home Journal and The Telegraph.
The Perry Chamber describes Taste of Southern as an evening to "eat, drink, bid" with samplings from several local food vendors. On hand will be the Perfect Pear, Lane Southern Orchard, Fruits of Vienna, Cherokee Pines Golf and Fitness Club Golf Club, Creekside Caterers, the R & R Café, Marti's Café Company, Houston Lake Country Club, The Butcher Shop, Georgia Bob's BBQ, Cox, Red Barn Vineyard, Rusty's Restaurant, Chick-fil-A, Sonny's BBQ, Cuban Island Café, Apple American Group, Cracker Barrel, Longhorn Steakhouse, Red Lobster, Little Caesar Hot N Ready and Martin's BBQ. Christmas at the Crossroads in Perry has many holiday events scheduled through December. Santa's Workshop will be on Dec. 5 at the Georgia Artisan Center from 9 a.m. to noon, followed by the Christmas parade downtown from 4-6 p.m. The J.O.Y. choir will present the musical drama "Make Room for Christmas" at the Perry Methodist Church at 4:30 p.m. "Angel of Hope" interfaith memorial service will be Dec. 8 at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church. The annual Cookie Walk will be on Dec. 12 at Christ Lutheran Church from 10 a.m. to noon, followed by "What Sweeter Music" on Dec. 13 at Perry United Methodist Church from 9-11 a.m.

The Middle Georgia Model Railroad Club continues its annual holiday show of large miniature train displays at the Museum of Aviation in Warner Robins through Nov. 29. The exhibit is free to the public and open during museum hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Contact info@mgmrc.org for more information regarding the model train show.
The city of Warner Robins will host the annual Christmas Tree Lighting on Dec. 1 at 6 p.m. Due to renovations at City Hall, the location has been changed to the corner of Watson Boulevard and Armed Forces Boulevard at the LEC and E.L. Greenway Welcome Center. From 5:30-7:30 p.m. there will be activities for children, including photos with Santa, balloon characters, face painting, Polar Express Train rides, carolers and a Museum of Aviation activity. The city of Warner Robins and the Robins Region Chamber of Commerce will host the 57th annual Christmas parade Dec. 5 on Watson Boulevard from 10 a.m. to noon. The parade begins at the intersection of Watson Boulevard and Houston Road and ends at McConnell-Talbert Stadium. Call the Chamber of Commerce at 478-922-8585 for further information.
On Dec. 19, the Museum of Aviation presents Science with Santa from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
