Warner Robins man indicted on one count of attempting to entice girl for sex
A Warner Robins man has been indicted on allegations that he attempted to entice someone he thought was a 13-year-old girl for sex.
Dale Douglas Martin, a retired U.S. Air Force enlisted member, was arrested April 9 at a park on Robins Air Force Base where he allegedly agreed online to meet someone he thought was the girl for a sexual encounter. He was indicted in federal court in Macon on one count of attempted online enticement of a minor.
Efforts to reach Martin's court-appointed Macon attorney, Jared Westbroek, were unsuccessful.
On Feb. 23, Martin responded to a personal ad on a public web space that was placed by special agents with the U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigations under the persona of "L," according to an affidavit included in the federal court file. He is accused of using his cell phone and desktop computer to communicate with "L."
From Feb. 23 through April 9, Martin is accused of having numerous sexual conversations with "L," sending her images of his genitals and agreeing to meet her for a sexual encounter, according to the affidavit.
Martin told military police that he possibly would have performed oral sex on the girl in his vehicle if she had been willing, according to the affidavit. He also had been on base two previous times to attempt an impromptu meeting with the girl, the affidavit said.
