Man accused of pocketing funds he was allegedly paid to renovate Houston County home

A Canton man is accused of pocketing more than $50,000 that he was allegedly paid to renovate a Houston County home.

Daniel Leon Roberson, 39, was indicted Tuesday by a Houston County grand jury on two counts of theft by conversion.

Roberson is accused of receiving two checks in the fall of 2013 for more than $25,000 each from a property owner to renovate an Azalea Drive home. But he instead allegedly converted the money for personal use, according to the indictment.

No other information was included in the indictment or court file.
