A man suspected of robbing a Fort Valley convenience store clerk at gunpoint March 13 has been arrested.

Darius Chancez Willis, 22, of Roberta turned himself in to the Crawford County Sheriff's Office on Sunday, according to a Fort Valley Police Department release.

Willis was charged with armed robbery in the hold-up of the Flash Food convenience store at the corner of 740 Blue Bird Blvd. and Ga. 49. He is being held at the Peach County jail.

Willis is accused of taking money and running off. The clerk was not hurt.

Public Safety Director Lawrence Spurgeon identified Willis as the suspect shown on surveillance video pointing a gun at the clerk.

Photos taken from the video released by Fort Valley police showed the suspect wearing blue jeans, a white shirt and a bandanna over his face. He is shown walking up to the store holding a handgun at his side, coming inside with the gun raised and pointed at the clerk, then leaving.

Detectives think a second person could have been involved in the armed robbery, and they are working to identify that person.

Anyone with any information about the armed robbery or the identity of the second suspect is asked to call the Fort Valley Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division at 478-825-3383, or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 877-68-CRIME.
