The public is invited to provide comments about the professionalism of the communications division of the Houston County Sheriff's Office as part of a program it's undergoing to receive accreditation, according to a public notice from the sheriff's office.
The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies Inc. requires agencies to comply with standards in four areas including policy and procedures, administration, operations and support services, according to the notice. Comments limited to 10 minutes will be received by the commission's assessment team on April 4 between 1-3 p.m. and can be made by calling 478-923-7516, the notice said. Comments also may be made online at www.calea.org or mailed to the commission at 13575 Heathcote Blvd., Suite 230, Gainesville, VA 22030.
