Suspect sought in Byron bank robbery
Byron police are looking for a man who robbed a CB&T bank on Friday afternoon.
Just before 2:30 p.m., a white man walked into the bank and handed the clerk a note demanding money, detective Bill Lavender said. The man, in his late 40s or early 50s, fled toward Interstate 75 in a 2000 to 2006 gold Toyota Tacoma with an undisclosed amount of cash, Lavender said. He didn't display a weapon.
The man had a light beard and was wearing a brown zip-up hoodie jacket with a ball cap, which had an image of cash embossed in gold on the front, Lavender said. The man is about 6 feet tall, and he's believed to weigh about 220 pounds.
Anyone with information about the crime or identity of the suspect is asked to call Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 877-68-CRIME or the Byron Police Department at 956-2880.
