Retired Warner Robins businesswoman Barbara Shaheen has died
WARNER ROBINS -- Barbara Shaheen, a retired businesswoman, public servant and mother of former Mayor Chuck Shaheen, died Sunday.
She was 84.
Shaheen and her late husband, Charles "Chuck" Shaheen Jr., and their two children moved to Warner Robins in 1964 with the U.S. Air Force Reserve Command, according to her obituary.
The couple settled in Warner Robins and later opened Shaheen Office Supply, which they operated for 30 years. Barbara Shaheen was involved in numerous civic and volunteer organizations. She was also an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, her obituary stated.
She is survived by daughter Donna Kiefer; son-in-law, Joe Kiefer; son, former Mayor Chuck Shaheen; daughter-in-law, Virginia Shaheen, all of Warner Robins; grandson, Joseph and his wife Sonya Maldonado Kiefer; granddaughter, Kelly Kiefer; great-grandson, Luke Kiefer; brother, Kelly Aide; and sister-in-law Joyce Aide; many cousins, nieces, and nephews and longtime friend Ella Barnes.
A rosary is expected to be set for 6 p.m. with a visitation to follow until 8 p.m. Tuesday at McCullough Funeral Home, her obituary stated. A funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A committal service will follow at Magnolia Park Mausoleum.
