Warner Robins police announce road closures for Christmas parade
Warner Robins police will close roads starting at 9 a.m. Saturday for the Robins Regional Christmas Parade.
The parade starts at 10 a.m. at the intersection of Houston Road and Watson Boulevard, turns south on Davis Drive and ends at McConnell-Talbert Stadium.
The parade route will not be accessible to motorists from 9:15 a.m. until noon, according to a Warner Robins police news release.
Starting at 9 a.m., Johnson Road will be closed from Gawin Drive to Bassford Road, the release said. At 9:15 a.m., North Houston Road will be closed from Bassford Road to Watson Boulevard.
At 9:40 a.m., Watson Boulevard from Corder Road to Davis Drive will be closed, and South Davis Drive between Watson Boulevard and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard also will be closed.
Eastbound traffic on Watson Boulevard will be diverted to Corder Road towards Russell Parkway. Westbound traffic on Watson Boulevard will be rerouted to Commercial Circle and then to North Davis Drive.
The parade's grand marshal this year is Warner Robins Fire Department's Jonathan Clark. He was selected by the Georgia State Firefighters Association as Rookie Firefighter of the Year for 2015.
This year's parade theme is "Christmas at the Movies."
