Warner Robins police investigating string of early morning business burglaries
Warner Robins police are investigating a string of early morning burglaries at five businesses.
Officers began responding to alarms at about 4:20 a.m. Wednesday at the Fillers No. 21, 2601 Moody Road, where suspects tried to break glass on the front door, but were unable to get inside, according to police.
At about 4:30 a.m., officers were called to the Iron Peach, 198 South Houston Lake Road, where suspects were successful in breaking the business's front glass and getting inside. It's not yet known if anything was taken.
About a half hour later, officers responded to Simply Cupcakes, 627 Houston Lake Road, and found the store's front glass shattered and an undisclosed amount of money had been taken, according to police.
At about 5:15 a.m., police were checking businesses in the area and noticed the glass door was smashed at Quick Stop Computers, 789 W. Highway 96, but nothing was reported taken.
About two hours later, at about 7 a.m., officers responded to Moody Cleaners, 2276 Moody Road, and found the front door was shattered. It's unknown if anything was taken, according to police.
Because the burglaries were similar, detectives are investigating whether they may be connected.
The suspects are described as two black males in their late teens or early 20s who were both wearing dark clothing with hoods over their heads, according to police.
Anyone with information is asked to call Macon Regional CrimeStoppers at 877-68-CRIME.
Police urge business owners to remove all money from their cash registers when closing, secure the money in a locked safe and leave registers open so the empty drawers are visible.
Alarm and surveillance systems should also be checked and a person with a key should be listed and available to respond.
