Kathleen man indicted on murder charges in butcher knife stabbing of nephew
PERRY -- A Houston County grand jury indicted a Kathleen man Tuesday on charges of malice murder and felony murder in the Sept. 27 stabbing death of his nephew.
Leon Springer, 48, was also indicted on charges of aggravated assault, terroristic threats and possession of a knife.
Springer is accused of stabbing 44-year-old Shaun Lawson of Macon in the head and chest with a butcher knife after the two got into an argument shortly before 3 a.m. at a West Houston Road home, according to the indictment and arrest warrant.
Lawson died on the way to Houston Medical Center.
Lawson's wounds were to the head and collar bone area, which is considered the chest area, Houston County sheriff's Lt. Dave Carrick said Tuesday.
The two men argued constantly, but only in one prior incident had the argument led to a physical exchange, Carrick said.
"So what it was that actually exploded between them nobody knows or they are unwilling to say," Carrick said.
The terroristic threat charge is in relation to Springer threatening to stab another relative at the residence, Carrick said.
Also indicted was Reginald Sebastian Kiper, 36, of Bonaire, on charges of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Kiper is accused of shooting Alfred Robinson in the chest and buttocks with a revolver Sept. 30 after the two argued at Kiper's home on Jubilee Circle. Robinson was hospitalized and later released.
Kiper told authorities he shot Robinson rather than getting into a fist fight with him, Carrick said.
Kiper also claimed that Robinson had intimated he would harm his girlfriend or children, Carrick said.
The "bad blood" between the men was over Robinson thinking Kiper had caused another person to be arrested in an unrelated incident, Carrick said.
Also indicted was Louise Cargo Anderson, 39, of Warner Robins, on a charge of aggravated battery for stabbing 35-year-old Dianna Darrisaw through a lung, causing it to collapse, according to the indictment. The incident happened July 20 at a North Avenue home in Warner Robins. The police report narrative said only that an officer was dispatched to the home in reference to a fight.
Altha Perry, 28, was indicted on charges of aggravated assault, aggressive driving, stalking and two counts of obstruction of an officer for resisting arrest. He's accused of following a woman from Ferguson Park in Warner Robins, driving in such a way as to harass her along Elberta Road, King Drive and Davis Drive before intentionally ramming her vehicle with his Honda Accord, according to the indictment.
Geronimo Hilario Pinon, 19, of Warner Robins, was indicted on charges of burglary, theft by taking a 2007 Dodge Ram pickup, trafficking methamphetamine, possession of hashish oil and possession of hydrocodone, a pain medication. He was also indicted on four counts of theft by receiving stolen property of a shotgun, two rifles and a machine gun, one count of possession of an illegal weapon in relation to the machine gun and one count of violation of the state's street gang terrorism and prevention act. He allegedly belongs to the Surenos 13 Gang, according to the indictment.
His arrest stems from a Houston County sheriff's office burglary investigation that led to a search of his Dixie Trail home where authorities recovered stolen goods, guns, narcotics and $16,000 in cash.
