Perry Arts Center accepting submissions from high school artists in Houston County

The Perry Arts Center Committee is accepting submissions from high school students in Houston County for the 2016 Student Art Show set for Jan. 23 and 24.

A total of 33 ribbons will be awarded this year in five categories of art including: drawing, painting, mixed media, photography and 3-D sculpture, according to a news release from the committee. Prizes awarded will total more than $1,000. The show will take place at the arts center in Perry located at 1121 Macon Road, and admission is free, according to the news release.
