Cordele man killed in Peach County accident that shut down I-75 N

A fatal three-vehicle accident shut down Interstate 75 North in Peach County shortly after 1 a.m. Friday.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident at mile marker 144 near the Russell Parkway exit.

Leonard Patrick Jr. was ejected from his vehicle, said Peach County Coroner Kerry Rooks. The 30-year-old Cordele man was pronounced dead at the scene at about 2 a.m., Rooks said.

No commercial vehicles are involved, but all northbound lanes are expected to be closed until at least 5:30 a.m.
