Warner Robins police offer teen driver educational courses

WARNER ROBINS -- Police are offering a free educational course for teen drivers and their parents twice next month.

The Georgia Teens Ride with PRIDE, or Parents Reducing Injuries and Driver Error, course will be taught from 6-8 p.m. on Nov. 11 and then again on Nov. 18 at Middle Georgia State University, 100 University Blvd., a Warner Robins police news release stated.

During the two-hour course, parents will receive instructions on what to do during supervised driving practice time with their teen drivers. Meanwhile, the teenagers will be asked to engage in a roundtable discussion about risky driving behaviors. The course addresses driver attitude, knowledge and behavior.

Police are offering the course in conjunction with the Georgia Traffic Injury Prevention Institute in an effort to reduce crashes, injuries and fatalities involving teen drivers.

The deadline to sign up is Oct. 30. To sign up, call Warner Robins police Sgt. Randy Evans at 478-293-1037.
