Three Dog Night cancels Georgia National Fair concert, Grand Funk Railroad to perform instead
Three Dog Night will not perform at the Georgia National Fair Oct. 8 as previously announced.
The rock band canceled its free show to allow co-founder and lead singer Cory Wells to receive treatment of a nerve problem affecting his back, according to a news release from the fair.
“Of course we are really disappointed about canceling this concert, but Cory’s physician has made this decision, and we want to make sure Cory has the time to get the treatment he needs for complete recovery,” Danny Hutton, who co-founded the band with Wells, said in the release. “It’s really the best way to ensure that we will be back out there performing for our fans as soon as possible.”
Rock band Grand Funk Railroad will perform instead. The musical group from the ‘70s is known for its hit “We’re an American Band.”
The concert will take place on the Jeff Smith Chevrolet/WDEN stage in front of Reaves Arena at the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter in Perry. The Grapevine will open the show at 7 p.m.
